Finland Tour operation subject to min 6 max 8 passengers in total per tour. Each individual booking counts towards this minimum requirement.
Day 1: Following your arrival at your Finland airport a transfer is provided to your overnight hotel where accommodation is arranged on room, dinner and breakfast basis, relax in this hotel in annticipation of your summer holiday in Lapland, Finland.
Day 2: Following breakfast we visit the Arktikum Museum to see the development of the Sámi People. A museum guide will escort the party and indicating and describing the highlights of the tour. Late morning we take a river boat cruise to a reindeer park followed by lunch before returning to Rovaniemi for a late afternoon at leisure. Dinner at hotel.
Day 3: Following breakfast we proceed north to the traditional log cabin village of Luosto nestling amidst the forest by a pretty hillside location. Individual Finland summer log cabins are provided to tour participants and meals during your stay are provided in the local Luostonhovi log cabin restaurant. Following lunch we visit the amethyst Mine where we hear tales of the Amethyst and are able to mine our own individual stones. Dinner at Luostonhovi log cabin restaurant.
Day 4: Morning free for individual activities at Luosto. Lunch at Luostonhovi log cabin restaurant. This afternoon join our special interest tour to The Husky Farm where you will be able to meet the breeder and hear many stories about the development of Huskies in the region. Coffee and buns at location. This evening dinner and evening walk to the fells for a beautiful view over Luosto.
Our summer holiday walks on both days are gentle and available to everyone with a modicum
of fitness.
Day 5: Our destination for today is Lake Inari. Our route will take us through the regional town of Sodankylä (short sightseeing tour) before proceeding to Saariselkä and Ivalo with lunch provided en route. This afternoon we visit the Sámi (Lapland people) museum and Nature centre before availing of an exciting sea plane flight over the lake. Finland Hotel accommodation with half board, dinner in Inari.
Day 6: Travelling along the shores of Lake Inari we cross over the border into Norway heading for the picturesque village of Kirkenes. Todays' highlight is a trip by fishing boat to admire the breathtaking scenery of the fells. You may even try your hand at Salmon Fishing. Hotel accommodation with half board dinner in region of Kirkenes.
Day 7: Our return journey brings us along one of Finland's most scenic routes between Utsjoki and Inari and stops will be made for short summer forest walks at appropriate locations.
Day 8: Today we return to your departure airport. A shopping stop will be made at the Arctic Circle where handicrafts representative of the region are on sale.
Included in the safari cost:
- Guided transport to and from airport, airport taxes etc.
- 7 nights accommodation.
- Full board, with breakfast and dinner at your accommodation and either a packed lunch, lunch stop at a chosen restaurant or cabin or around a campfire en-route.
